In rare cases they may have chips, scratches, and other wear and tear common on used rental equipment, such as permanent markers, stickers, or other writing on them. Cosmetic and non-functional details (tips, signature badges etc) might be broken or missing. Please verify that your preferred ski shop will set up and adjust these particular skis and bindings. The Chiara is similar to the Allura and Charisma, but it splits the difference in width (77 mm). To better suit the aggressive intermediate, its core is a more forgiving combination of foam reinforced by a tip-to-tail wood strip, rather than all wood, and a less powerful version of Volkl’s XTD construction is designed to make it less edgy. It’s part of the Essenza collection of frontside, carve-ready, tip-rockered women’s models-the female counterparts of the men’s RTM series. Like the RTMs, they feature Volkl’s XTD constructions, in which extra mass is stacked over the edges for positive edge grip without added weight. Less mass is used in lower end models to make them less edgy and more forgiving. All Essenza models are built with Volkl’s Bio-Logic female-specific design and features. Volkl’s Code series includes four models built for strong, edgy, race-like performance on groomed snow, with waist widths of 74-76 mm-not quite narrow enough for racecourse ice, but ideal for carving up firm-to-velvety resort groomers. They’re essentially two steps shy of true FIS-level race-stock skis. For even racier recreational rides, see the 66- and 70-mm Racetiger Speedwall “beer league” models, the SL and the GS.
