The Brahma 82 features an identical core construction, but it does not feature the metal laminates making it significantly lighter, more maneuverable and more forgiving. IT is better suited to someone who values maneuverability over speed, and forgiveness over power and precision. There is a bit of metal underfoot but that is more for binding retention than anything else. The Brahma 82 SP allows for a bit more versatility due to its more forgiving flex and requires less effort when skiing ungroomed terrain like a bump run. These skis are by no means great floaters, but they are wide enough to handle a variety of conditions and the occasional adventure off the groomer. There is a bit of rocker in the tip and tail which helps with maneuverability and turn initiation more so than anything else.
